Napolitano Addresses Fire Chiefs (SAR)
Speech outlines steps to connect homeland security and hometown security.

This seems to be a consistent DHS theme when speaking to the fire and emergency services community, as Napolitano made a very similar speech in April to the Congressional Fire Service Institute's National Fire and Emergency Service Dinner in Washington, DC. (DHS never released the speech transcripts for that event so it was not posted in the KMS.) ...

www.dcTechSource Uncovering Technology Innovation in the Washington DC Metro Area
For our Washington DC Metro area members, affiliates, and partners: www.dcTechSource.com is a new web site dedicated 100 percent to covering the business of technology in the Washington, D.C. metro. Let’s face it -- while this area has one of the most vibrant and exciting technology communities in the world, there is not a single media outlet that is doing justice in its coverage of the innovation being developed by our local technology companies.

2009 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week
The National Center for Victims of Crime and the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), Office of Justice Programs, within the U.S. Department of Justice, are proud to announce the 2009 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, April 26 – May 2, 2009. Since 1981, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) has been a time of national remembrance—an opportunity for communities; victims and their loved ones; and victim-serving professionals to join together and reflect on the hard won progress achieved in victims’ rights and services and the challenges many crime victims still face. The 2009 NCVRW theme, “25 Years of Rebuilding Lives: Celebrating the Victims of Crime Act,” recognizes and celebrates the profound and wide-reaching impact of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) on victims’ rights and resources.
